"A bunch of grapes is beautiful, static, and pure, but it's just fruit;";
"Once pressed and turned into wine, there is life."
-American writer and famous writer William Young
In Israel, the wine culture is as ancient as the world's grape sprinkling. Israel is one of the countries with the longest history of wine production in the world. According to the Bible, Noah planted grapes and made wine here over 4000 years ago. As early as 2000 years ago, there was a considerable wine industry in Israel.
The Carmel winery located in central Israel is the largest and earliest winery in Israel. Founded in 1882, Carmel Winery has undergone over a hundred years of development, and has not only become an internationally renowned winery in Israel. Israel's unique KOSHER certification has led to the ultimate quality of Carmel wines. One of the provisions of a seven year fallow system is even more highly respected.
In Carmel Winery, the vineyard where grapes are grown cannot be planted with other crops at the same time. The cultivated land needs to be fallow every seven years in order to grow better grapes and make better wine. As for the fallow of the land, it has long been recorded in the Bible that in the seventh year the land shall observe a holy Sabbath, which is a sabbath to the LORD. You shall not cultivate fields or repair vineyards. "Do not harvest crops that have been left to grow themselves: do not harvest grapes from grapes that have not been repaired.". This year, the earth shall observe a holy rest. "The output of the land during the Sabbath year shall be food for you and your servants, maidservants, hired labourers, and aliens.". "The produce of this year shall also be used as food for your livestock and for the beasts of your land.".
On August 31, 2015, CCTV's "Economic Information Network" 2 reported a survey of the overseas wine industry. It was found that the Middle East region where Israel is located, known in the Bible as a place flowing with milk and honey, has a long history and is the largest winery with an annual output of 15 million bottles - Carmel Winery.
Carmel Winery was founded in 1882 and is known as "The Winery of God" for 133 years now.
CCTV not only gave a particularly detailed introduction to Carmel Winery, but also conducted an in-depth exploration of the century old winery inherited and developed by the Jewish people famous for their wisdom. Israeli wine expert Adam Montgomery believes that the style of Israeli wine is a perfect fusion of the New World, the Old World, and the Old World. Israel is a technologically advanced country, and the "New World" wine cultivation and brewing technologies have been applied in Israel's wine industry.
